    Two consecutive earthquakes of magnitude 4.9 and 4.8 hit J&K's Baramulla district; no injuries reported

    Then, minutes later, another earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale hit the same area

    Two earthquakes, measuring 4.9 and 4.8 on the Richter scale, seven minutes apart, struck Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district early on Tuesday morning, causing panic across the valley.

    The quake was felt across the region, prompting many residents to flee their homes. Anxious callers flooded the phone lines seeking updates on the safety of friends and family.

    So far, authorities have reported no injuries or property damage anywhere in the valley.

    The first earthquake, measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale, occurred at 6:45 a.m. at 34.17 degrees north latitude and 74.16 degrees east longitude, with a focal depth of 5 kilometers and its epicenter in the Baramulla area of ​​northern Kashmir.

    Then, seven minutes later, at 6:52 am, another earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred at 34.20 degrees north latitude and 74.31 degrees east longitude. The epicenter was at a depth of 10 kilometers and the epicenter was also in Baramulla.
