Sources revealed that after examining the call records of Sanjay Roy, the CBI found that he made a call to Anup Dutta on August 9, the day the trainee doctor's body was retrieved from the hospital.
Kolkata Police ASI Anup Dutta was summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday, a day after Union Minister and West Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar on Wednesday questioned his relationship with Kolkata postgraduate trainee doctor rape-murder case accused Sanjay · Close relationship with Sanjay Roy.
The Union minister also shared some pictures of Dutta and Roy at a gathering of the ruling TMC in South Dinapur.
“Not just a running champ but also a partisanship champ! Attending the gathering with the Southdinpur TMC leaders was none other than Anup Dutta, the renowned ASI of Kolkata Police, and Sanjay, a citizen volunteer! Majumdar wrote on X.
He further raised questions about the safety and dignity of women in the state and demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

According to sources, Arun Dutta allegedly arranged a bed for Sanjay Roy in the 4th Battalion barracks in violation of regulations. He also helped Roy buy a motorcycle for daily travel.
It is understood that after careful examination of Roy's call records, the CBI found that he made a call to Dutta on August 9, the day the body of the intern doctor was found from the hospital.
Sources revealed that the central agency is also probing whether Dutta helped the accused Sanjay Roy in any way to destroy evidence or escape? The agency is also investigating whether Dutta knew about the crime.
CBI summons ASI Anup Dutta
The CBI on Tuesday summoned ASI Anup Dutta, an alleged associate of arrested accused Sanjay Roy, for allegedly raping and murdering a 31-year-old PG trainee doctor at RG Kar MCH in Kolkata on August 9.
Roy reportedly joined the Kolkata Police Disaster Management Cell as a volunteer in 2019, but was later transferred to the Police Welfare Cell. He then moved to the police post of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital and had access to all departments.
Even though Roy was no ordinary cop, he would introduce himself as Kolkata Police and walk around wearing a T-shirt with KP (Kolkata Police) on it. His bike also bears the KP tag. He often used his connections to stay at the police station. Many other citizen volunteers believed he was actually a police officer, the report said.
