Craftsmen from nearly a hundred stations were invited to participate in the OSOP project.

Nearly a hundred sites invite craftsmen to participate in the OSOP program.

One Stop Shop One Product (OSOP) is an initiative to promote artisans, especially in the handicrafts sector, to sell their products.

Eastern Railway has set up One Stop One Product (OSOP) stalls at various stations including Howrah, Sealdah, Malda and Asansol. But now, if you are a local artisan or entrepreneur, then you can sell your handmade items at fair prices at these stalls at Howrah station. The initiative aims to promote artisans and their businesses in different parts of West Bengal.

One Stop Shop One Product (OSOP) is an initiative to promote artisans, especially in the handicrafts sector, to sell their products. Generally, these artisans lack opportunities to market their products. Through OSOP, they will have a larger platform to reach customers across the country and be able to successfully sustain their livelihood.

Nearly 100 stations under Howrah division and 100 stations under Sealdah invite artisans to participate in the OSOP programme. The project has set up stalls at stations such as Howrah, Adi Saptagram, Ambika Kalna, Arambagh, Azimganj Junction, Baghila, Chandan Nagar and Bansberia. Similarly, in Sealdah district, stalls have been set up at stations like Duttapukur, Piali, Lalgola, Bhagwangola, Murshidabad, Krishnanagar, Bongaon and Dumdum Cantonment.

For artisans who register for 15 days, the fee will be Rs 1,500 (inclusive of GST) and 20 units of electricity will be provided free of charge. The registration fee for 30 days is Rs 2,000 (inclusive of GST), of which 40 kWh of electricity is free. Electricity usage above the limit will be subject to additional charges.

For detailed information and terms and conditions, please visit the website www.er.Indianrailways.gov.in. While this is certainly a great opportunity for local artisans and entrepreneurs, it’s also a plus for passengers to be able to purchase their favorite handicrafts at affordable prices. This benefits both parties.

Artisans who have joined the program are displaying their products at these stalls and taking orders from domestic and foreign customers. This helps talented artists increase their income and gain new employment opportunities. The main motto is to realize the “Voice for Local” initiative and the dream of “Local to Global”.
