    Al-Qaeda-inspired terror group busted, working to carry out terror activities and khalifa across India

    Delhi Police, in a joint operation with Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh police forces, busted the terror group and detained 14 people allegedly associated with the group.

    Six people were detained in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, while undergoing practical weapons handling training, while eight suspects were detained for questioning in Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh

    The Delhi Police Special Cell on Thursday busted a Al-Qaeda-inspired terror group that was planning to carry out terror activities in the country. Delhi Police, in a joint operation with Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh police forces, busted the terror group and detained 14 people allegedly associated with it.

    Six people were detained in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, while undergoing practical training on how to handle weapons, while eight suspects were detained for questioning in Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.

    The terrorist group, led by a Ranchi-based Dr. Ishtiaq, is reportedly preparing to carry out a series of high-profile terrorist activities aimed at establishing a “Khalifah” in India.

    Delhi Police said in a statement: “As per current functioning, the module is led by a Dr. Ishtiaq from Ranchi (Jharkhand) and its objective is to declare 'Khalifah' and enforce the law in the country. Carrying out serious terrorist activities.

    Police said members of the module received indoctrination and weapons training at various locations. Recovery of weapons, ammunition, literature, etc. is ongoing at multiple locations. Delhi Police officials noted that the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected as the raids continue.
