A team of Bangladeshi astronomers embarked on an unknown journey over four years to discover these 34 new giant radio galaxies.

After four years of unremitting efforts day and night, four Bangladeshi scientists finally succeeded in their research, and their breakthrough discovery shocked the world. Scientists from a remote area of West Bengal have discovered huge radio galaxies in the universe, which are several times larger than other galaxies. The discovery was highly praised by other scientists around the world. The discovery was made almost entirely using indigenous technology.

Scientists mentioned that there are still countless unknown cosmic objects that have not been discovered and are invisible to the naked eye hidden in the dark corners of the universe. The Giant Radio Source (GRS) galaxy is one such object. These ancient, massive galaxies are not easy to see. These objects can be discovered using only radio waves and wavelengths. Through these radio waves, scientists have identified 34 ancient giant galaxies. This discovery is bound to be a major development in the field of space science.

According to reports, a team of Bangladeshi astronomers has been on an unknown journey for about four years to discover these 34 new giant radio galaxies. The researchers used 30 special radio telescopes at the National Center for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA) at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), located near the village of Koda, about 90 kilometers north of Pune. The telescopes used are called Giant Meterwave Radio Telescopes (GMRT), each with a diameter of 45 m.

A team of Indian astronomers led by Professor Sabyasachi Pal, Head, Department of Pure and Applied Sciences, Medinipur City College, made this astonishing discovery using TGSS radio sky maps. The team also included PhD researchers Souvik Manik and Nitai Bhakta and Susanta Kumar Mondal, assistant professor of physics at Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, Purulia.

Professor and scientist Sabyasachi Pal said: “These giant radio galaxies in the universe are usually huge. They are equivalent to 20-25 Milky Way galaxies in size. By analyzing the radio waves emitted by these giant galaxies, it took us four years of hard work to make this made this discovery.
