According to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), last month saw record high temperatures in much of the world, including Greenland and Africa:

The reality is more mundane because the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has no temperature data at all for Greenland and much of Africa.

Much of the world is also much colder than normal.
NOAA also says they know what the global temperature was in July 1881:

This is pretty amazing considering they only have a handful of stations in North America and Europe:

But at least they didn't build the weather station next to the airport runway and electrical substation!
