The last date for filing nomination papers for the 16 assembly constituencies in the Kashmir Valley is August 27.

Seven candidates on Thursday filed nominations for different parliamentary seats in Kashmir that will go to polls in the first phase on September 18, officials said.

Former Jammu and Kashmir minister and senior NC leader Sakina Itoo filed her nomination from Damhal Hanji Pora in Kulgam district, officials said.
People's Democratic Party Parliamentary Committee Chairman Mohammad Sartaj Madni filed nomination papers in Devsar, while party general secretary Mehboob Beg was in Anand Nomination papers were filed for Anantnag seat.
Officials said Apni Party's Abdul Majeed Padel filed the nomination from Dahal Khanji Pora, while party leader Mohammad Altaf Mir filed the papers from Panpur .
They said Khurgam's nomination papers were submitted by Awami Conference's Nazir Ahmed Raweh.
Independent candidate Asif Nabi Dar has filed nomination papers from the Pulwama assembly seat.
