Shitole is responsible for handling the sexual assault case of two kindergarten girls at a school in Bhadrapur.
Senior police officer Shubhada Shitole of Bhadrapur East police station, who was suspended over the controversial handling of a sexual assault case involving two minors, has been transferred to Mumbai.
Hitole was in charge of the sexual assault case against two kindergarten girls at a school in Bhadrapur near Mumbai. A male attendant allegedly assaulted the girl in a school restroom on August 12 and 13, an incident that sparked huge public anger over the police response.
The FIR was registered on August 16 and the accused was arrested the next day. Shitole reportedly visited the crime scene and met the victim but allegedly delayed opening a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO).
