The Principal District and Sessions Judge of Raus Avenue Court in Delhi on Thursday came down heavily on a contempt of court case filed in connection with the drowning death of three Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) candidates at a coaching centre. Defense counsel in contempt proceedings and issued a warning.

“Don't think you can misbehave in my court. (Don't even think you can misbehave in my court). The court responded to repeated interruptions by defense lawyers, new agency ANI reported.
Advocate Abhijit Anand represents the father of a UPSC applicant Nevin Dalvil, who drowned at Rau's IAS Study Circle in Delhi's old Rajender Nagar last month Death. He lodged an application seeking directions to prepare a building sanctions plan for the basement and third floors of the building where the tragic incident took place on July 27.
The application has been marked for hearing by an Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM), but advocate Anand maintained that it should be heard by a district judge, the news agency reported.
When the court referred his application to another court, he objected and asked the court to reject his application and not transfer it to another court. “It's my right to express my opinion. I want to express my opinion,” he said.

However, when the court indicated that his application had been flagged to another court that was hearing a related application, he insisted that the court either hear his application or reject it.
The application filed by Anand sought approved building plans for the basement and third floor, including gutters, and a lease deed for the third floor of the building where the training would take place. The application states that the documents have a “direct link” to the case and are “significantly relevant” and therefore necessary and desirable in the proceedings.

On July 27, the basement of the IAS Study Circle Tutoring Center in Los Angeles was flooded due to heavy rain, and three students drowned.

Seven hours later, disaster rescue teams recovered the bodies of two women and a man from the scene. The police identified the victims as Shreya Yadav (25) from Ambedkar Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni (25) from Telangana and Navin Dalwin (28) from Ernakulam in Kerala .
The owner and coordinator of the tutoring center were arrested and charged with manslaughter, among other charges. The police identified the owner as Abhishek Gupta and the other accused as Deshpal Singh.
