The incident took place on Thursday night in Mhow tehsil Choral village, about 40 km from the district headquarters, when the workers were sleeping underneath.
Five workers were killed when a roof slab collapsed on a resort hut under construction in Madhya Pradesh's Indore district, an official said on Friday.

Indore (rural) police chief Hitika Wasal told PTI over phone from the spot that the body has been sent to the hospital.
She said police were informed of the incident at around 6.30am. Police rushed to the scene immediately and launched rescue operations.
“The operation has concluded and five bodies have been recovered. We have launched an investigation into the incident.
