What is a BHISHM cube?
BHISM Cube is a revolutionary mobile hospital equipped with cutting-edge technology. The cubes are part of a wider program called Project BHISH, which aims to treat hundreds of casualties, emphasizing rapid response and comprehensive care.
Aid Cube is equipped with a variety of innovative tools designed to enhance disaster response and medical support during emergencies. The unit contains removable components and can be easily carried by hand, bicycle or even drone, providing unparalleled flexibility.
In the face of a mass casualty incident (MCI), with needs ranging from basic assistance to advanced medical and surgical care, the Aid Cube stands out with its ability to deploy in less than 12 minutes. This rapid deployment capability is critical because it effectively bridges the critical time gap from primary to final care, potentially saving countless lives during the golden hour of an emergency.
Tough, waterproof, lightweight and designed for a variety of configurations, these cubes are perfect for a variety of emergencies. From airdrops to ground transportation, the Cube can be quickly deployed anywhere, ensuring instant response capabilities.
“It also includes the surgical equipment of a basic operating room, which can perform 10-15 basic surgeries per day. The Cube can handle about 200 emergencies of different natures, such as trauma, bleeding, burns, fractures, etc., and can also generate a limited number of Electricity and oxygen. A team of experts from India has been deployed to provide initial training to the Ukrainian side in operating the cube, the MEA said in a statement.
Notably, the Government of India has also deployed BHISHM cubes in Ayodhya to enhance medical preparedness and response capabilities during the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony at Ram Temple in January 2024.
