Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's government has decided to withhold August salaries of all officials and employees who will provide details of movable and immovable assets before August 31.
Chief Secretary Manoj Singh has written to all additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries and department heads regarding the matter. The order issued on Tuesday states that only those who provide property details before August 31 will be paid.
Some IAS, IPS, PPS, PCS officers and employees are yet to declare their assets. The Yogi Adityanath government's strict order to enforce the deadline has created a stir in bureaucratic circles.
The Uttar Pradesh government has made it mandatory for all officials and employees to provide details of movable and immovable properties online. The Ministry of Personnel has issued an order in this regard. According to the order, those who do not provide details will not be promoted. In the first order, the deadline was set as June 30.
However, only about 26% of officials and employees in the Uttar Pradesh government have provided information about their properties so far, according to the latest information from the Manav Sampada portal.
The chief secretary in his order said that after reviewing the Manav Sampada portal, it became apparent that despite clear orders, officials and employees were not providing information about their properties. The order states that employees have until 2023 to provide personal details, while companies have until December 31, 2024 to provide property details.
M Devraj, principal secretary, personnel department, said the order has been issued by the principal secretary and has been forwarded to all additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, secretaries and heads of departments and offices.
Only 26% of Uttar Pradesh's approximately 1.8 million government employees have provided details of their properties online. Government sources said that since the system for providing property details on the Manav Sampada portal was first created, the last date has been fixed as August 31.
