Chikkamagaluru City Council orders city-wide meat ban, closes non-vegetarian shops and restaurants, warns of legal action
The Chakkamagaluru Municipal Council on Monday ordered a city-wide ban on meat consumption on the occasion of Janmostami festival. The civic body has issued orders to celebrate Sri Krishna Janmashtami with utmost devotion. The city council asks for the cooperation of all traders and the public.
Poultry, mutton, fish shops under Chikkamagaluru Municipal Council will be closed on Monday. Non-vegetarian restaurants and restaurants will also remain closed. The city commissioner has ordered a complete ban on animal slaughter and meat sales on Monday.
The city commissioner said legal action will be taken against chicken, mutton, fish, meat sellers and buckwheat restaurants if they continue to operate in violation of regulations.
