The agency's investigation challenges the view that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lost his appeal as leader of the Modi 3.0 coalition government. This also shows that his popularity in some areas is still unusually high, especially in the Northern District and first-tier cities
In the latest Ipsos IndiaBus Prime Minister Approval Survey for August 2024, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received an approval rating of up to 70%, which is comparable to the approval rating he received in the May survey. Most respondents continue to rate his performance as prime minister highly.
The agency's investigation challenges the view that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lost his appeal as leader of the Modi 3.0 coalition government. This also shows that his popularity in some areas is still unusually high, especially in the North District and first-tier cities.
Although it is too early to fully assess the performance of the Modi 3.0 government, which has only been in office for two months, surveys show that the government has received extremely high ratings in areas such as education, cleanliness and medical care. However, South District is the only district where Prime Minister Modi enjoys a lower approval rating, according to the agency.
In May this year, the agency's survey found that Prime Minister Modi's approval rating was 70%, and the majority of respondents believed that his work as prime minister was praiseworthy.
“His continued popularity can be seen in an Ipsos approval poll conducted in May 2024, where his performance received a 70% approval rating. A majority of respondents still think Modi is doing a good job as prime minister It is commendable,” the agency said at the time.
According to the results of the Ipsos survey (August wave), Prime Minister Modi once again enjoyed high approval ratings consistent with the high levels recorded in May. In other words, recent surveys suggest his support remains strong, reflecting the same level of support as earlier this year.
