Home Minister Amit Shah said that central government plans and state government plans will be fully implemented in Naxalite-infested areas.
Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said it was time for a final attack on Naxalism and said the time had come for a “final attack” on extremist ideology.
Addressing a press conference after an inter-state coordination meeting with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Lord Vishnu, Amit Shah said: “I believe our fight has entered the final stage and by March 2026 By this month we will be able to rid the country completely of Nazism.
“It's time to launch a final offensive and adopt a brutal strategy against leftism and Nazism,” he said.
According to a government press release, the Home Affairs Minister said the surrender policy should be flexible, but efforts should be made to ensure it is not abused.
“Unless those extremists who have reached the point of no return are punished, this problem cannot be brought under control,” he said.
Shah said the focus of the meeting was to fully implement the plans of the central government and the Chhattisgarh government in Naxalite-infested areas, promote infrastructure projects in these areas and also address the challenges faced in early implementation of these projects.
“(To ensure) 100 per cent saturation of central government and Chhattisgarh government schemes in Naxalism-affected areas, progress in infrastructure projects in these areas and elimination of challenges faced during these projects, a meeting was held for this purpose This meeting,” he said.
He said the number of deaths caused by left-wing extremism (LWE) had declined over the past few years. “In the first 10 years, 6,617 security personnel and citizens were killed, and now there is a 70% reduction,” he said.
Amit Shah also said that the census will be conducted at the “appropriate time”. “It will happen at the appropriate time. I will announce how it will happen and when it will happen,” he said.
Shah also addressed a press conference to the Congress party to form an alliance with the National Conference (NC) for the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
He also accused the party of not working for the interests of Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
