Delhi Traffic Police has asked commuters and devotees to follow route advisories and plan their journey accordingly
Delhi Traffic Police on Sunday issued a traffic warning to commuters and devotees ahead of Monday's Janmashtami celebrations as restrictions will be imposed near major temples and procession routes.
“Important events for Janmashtami will be held at Laxmi Narain Mandir in New Delhi, ISKCON Temple in East Kailash, DDA grounds in Dwarka Sector 13 and Rohini Sector 25, Dwarka Sector 10, -10 was held at Janmashtami Park in Punjab Bagh, Golok Dam Temple in Dwarka district, Adhya Katyani Shakti Peeth in Chhatarpur, Gufawala Mandir in Preet Vihar and Santoshi Mata Mandir in Hari Nagar”, Delhi Traffic Police Publish on X.

“Vehicle movement will be prohibited between Talkatora Stadium roundabout and Peshwa Road, Mandir Marg T-point between Mandir Marg. Mandir Lane from Shankar Road Roundabout to Mandir Marg will also be restricted.
The post read that the routes of buses and commercial vehicles heading to Mandir Marg have been changed and buses leaving from Shivaji Stadium heading to Mandir Marg will be diverted to Panchkuian Road or GPO Roundabout.
In eastern Kailash, heavy vehicles will be restricted from passing Captain Gaur Marg and other major crossing points from 8 am on Monday to 1 am on August 27, and roads around Raja Dhirsain Marg will also be closed.
In Punjab Bagh, diversion of commercial vehicles on Ring Road and surrounding areas will be implemented around key points such as Raja Garden Crossing, Club Road T-Point and Shivaji Park Crossing.
According to the advisory, in Chhattarpur, diversion points include CDR Chowk to Andheria Mor and Y-Point to 100 feet red light.
Jail Road from Lajwanti flyover to Tilak Nagar metro station will be restricted with specific diversions around Hari Nagar Chowk and Fateh Nagar Red Light in Hari Nagar, Delhi, the post said.
“In Rohini Sector 25, Nala Road leading to ISKCON Temple will be closed and traffic will be diverted towards Rohini Sector 24,” the advisory read.
Delhi Traffic Police further advised commuters to avoid roads near Dwarka Sports Complex and Dwarka Sector 10 Metro station as these routes will be affected due to Jamashtami celebrations.
The road from Dwarka Sector 9/10 junction to DDA Ground and other nearby routes will be closed, the advisory said.
The Delhi Traffic Police also pointed out some general instructions and said, “The public is advised to be aware of possible congestion on roads leading to temples and procession routes. There is likely to be a general slowdown in traffic and congested roads.
