Dr. Perramsetty, a native of Tirupati district in Andhra Pradesh, is the founder and medical director of Crimson Care Network, a network of local medical professionals.
An Indian-American doctor was shot and killed in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Friday. Dr. Ramesh Peramsetty, a well-known doctor who had run several hospitals in the country, died on the spot.
Born in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Peramseti is the founder and medical director of Crimson Care Network, a team of local medical professionals. He was acclaimed for his contributions to health care and served as a physician in Tuscaloosa.
The Crimson Care Network team mourns the doctor's passing and says it will continue to honor Peramsetty's legacy. Crimson Care Network posted on Facebook: “As many of you know, we have been informed of the passing of Dr. Ramesh Peramsetty. The Peramsetty family is devastated by his passing. Ask us to give them privacy. They have received an outpouring of love and faith. We will continue to honor Him as He would have us do. Thank you for your understanding.
“Please continue to keep Peramsetty and the Crimson Care Network family in your thoughts and prayers as we move through this challenging time. Our team is prepared to make additional statements in the coming days. We will continue to honor his legacy. We of clinics remain open during the transition period,” it added.
Who is Dr. Peramseti?
According to his Wedmed page, Dr. Peramsetty graduated from Sri Venkateswara Medical College in 1986 and has 38 years of medical experience. He specializes in emergency medicine and family medicine and practices in Tuscaloosa and four other locations. He is also affiliated with the Regional Medical Center and holds a Diploma in Child Health (DCH).
According to NDTV, in addition to his medical work, Dr. Peramseti also donated Rs 1.4 million to Menakuru High School in Andhra Pradesh, where he attended, and contributed to the construction of a Sai temple in his village. .
A street in Tuscaloosa is named after Dr. Peramseti because of his important role in the medical field, according to local reports. Dr Peramsetty has also played a vital role during the Covid-19 pandemic and has received various awards for this. He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters, all of whom have settled in the United States.
