A 3-km-long stretch of road in Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh has earned the nickname “Dancing Road” because of its large potholes, which cause vehicles to sway and sway as they pass. Local resident Sandeep described the situation and said the road had turned into a “dancing road”. He said people could see how the vehicle bounced and swayed through the potholes.

The issue was informed to the district administration, following which the civic body started filling the potholes. Collector Bhavya Mittal said the Public Works Department (PWD) has been directed to fill the potholes and the work has started. The issue is expected to be resolved soon, he said.

The road, which stretches from Shanwara Crossing to Lalbagh railway station, has been in this condition for the past five months. Local residents said accidents were frequent due to potholes on the road. Data from district hospitals also show that more than 20 people have been injured in accidents in the past month.
