Former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and ex-BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has approached the Delhi High Court seeking quashing of the FIR and sexual harassment cases filed by six women wrestlers charges against him.
The petition has been listed for hearing before Justice Neena Bansal Krishna on Thursday.
Singh argued that the investigation was conducted in a biased manner as only the claims of the victims who were interested in seeking revenge against him were considered and the chargesheet was submitted to the trial court without considering the falsehood of the allegations.
The former WFI chief claimed he was wrongly implicated in the case and that he was not guilty of any of the crimes alleged by prosecutors.
On May 21, the trial court filed charges of sexual harassment, intimidation and insulting a woman's dignity.
The court also filed criminal intimidation charges against Vinod Tomar, a co-defendant in the case and former WFI assistant secretary.
In May 2023, the Delhi Police filed an FIR against Singh after the Supreme Court intervened.
