A group of parents and locals beat, stripped and paraded a tuition teacher in Maharashtra's Palghar district on Wednesday, accusing him of misbehaving with female students, an official said.
The matter came to light when a 13-year-old girl refused to attend his cram school. When her parents asked why, she told them about the alleged misconduct by the tutor.
The girl's parents and other citizens then beat the teacher, pulled him from Villar's class and stripped him naked and paraded him through the streets. They also accused him of misconduct with other female students, the official said.
Vijay Pawar, senior inspector of Virar police station, told reporters that the teacher has been handed over to the police and they are recording the statement. He added that the police will register an FIR against the tuition teacher.
