Prime Minister Modi stressed that much of the work done by the government also relies on multiple exchanges of paperwork and documents, and in many cases delays are due to bureaucratic challenges

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the issue of cabinet members at a meeting of ministers on Wednesday and made a sly dig at bureaucrats. In a 40-minute speech, the Prime Minister told cabinet colleagues that developments in his third term would continue at the same pace as his previous two terms.

Taking a jibe at bureaucrats, PM Modi said the work done by the government also relied on multiple exchanges of paperwork and documents and in many cases delays were due to bureaucratic challenges. In his typical style, the Prime Minister compared the journey of documents with that of the 'Char Dham Yatra', stating that processing documents was sometimes more difficult than the latter.

“Char Dham yatra ke baad humein toh moksh mil jaata hai, par files ko 16 dham yatra ke baad bhi moksh nahi milta (The cycle of life and death can end after performing the four-place pilgrimage, but there is no vision of salvation for the following files) According to News18 On being informed, Prime Minister Modi said: “(Has traveled to more than 15 locations or desks). “

The Prime Minister has on several occasions encouraged the bureaucracy to act like change agents and work at the same pace as the ruling government.

Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday convened a review meeting to take stock of the progress of seven priority projects worth over Rs 765,000 crore spread across 11 states and Union Territories. A press statement issued by the project office emphasized the need for timely completion of the project.

“Every official in the central or state government must be cognizant of the fact that delays in projects will not only lead to cost escalation but also deprive the public from enjoying the expected benefits of the projects,” the Prime Minister is reported to have said. Pragati told officials at the meeting.

At the Council of Ministers meeting, outgoing Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba gave a detailed account of the work done by the government since it came to power for the third consecutive term. Officials also detailed budget announcements, infrastructure projects, and education and health matters.
