Dhankar also slammed Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president Kapil Sibal for saying in a purported SCBA resolution that the tragic incident was a “symptomatic malaise” and suggesting such an incident very common

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar on Friday described the alleged rape and murder of a doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Hospital as a “painful” incident and called for a deterrence ecosystem to punish the perpetrators of such crimes.

Referring to President Droupadi Murmu's exclusive article for PTI, her first statement on the incident, Dhankar reiterated her statement: “Enough, enough. Murmu's scathing and personal essay, titled “Women's Safety: Enough is Enough,” is the first time the president has clarified his views on the August 9 incident in Kolkata, which has once again shaken the nation's conscience and triggered… widespread and sustained protests.

The Vice President addressed students at an event at Delhi University's Bharti College.

Dhankar also slammed Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president Kapil Sibal for saying in a purported SCBA resolution that the tragic incident was a “symptomatic malaise” and suggesting such an incident Very common.

“I'm shocked; I'm distressed and a little surprised that someone who is a lawyer in the Supreme Court and is a member of Congress is behaving in such a way that he has symptomatic discomfort and suggests that such incidents are common? What a disgrace! I can't use It is a great injustice to senior officials to use words to condemn this position,” the Vice President said.

Former SCBA president Adish C Aggarwala said the resolution had not been formally approved by the SCBA executive committee and asked Sibal to withdraw the resolution or make a public apology.

Danka denounced the labeling of violence against women as “symptoms”, stressing that such statements were akin to trivializing the suffering of girls.

“For partisan gain? For selfish gain? You took a stand and used your authority to commit such a heinous injustice against our girls and women? What greater injustice could there be to humanity?” ? Are we trivializing the pain of girls? No, not anymore,” he said.

Reacting to President Murmu's remarks, Dhankar said: “President Murmu is a tribal woman herself. She has seen the reality. She has rightly expressed in media reports that crimes against women are enough. I hope this Trumpet 1 became a national rallying cry. I hope everyone in India will heed the sane, sensible and timely warning from the President of India, he added. “

Dankar said the fear in the hearts of girls and women is worrying, “How can girls and women not be safe in the land of Bharat? How can their dignity be violated?” Talking about the 2012 Delhi gang rape incident , he added that the recurrence of incidents requires a strong ecosystem to punish criminals and instill fear in their hearts.

Dankar also emphasized the need for women to be financially independent. “I call on each of you to achieve financial independence. This is very important to unleash your energy and potential,” he said.

“Girls are the most important stakeholders in national development. They form the backbone and backbone of rural, agricultural and informal economies.

Highlighting India's current growth trajectory, he stressed that this progress would not be possible without the full participation of women, who constitute half of India's population.

“The idea that India is a developed country without the participation of girls and women is unreasonable. They have energy, they have talent. With your participation, the dream of a developed India will be realized by 2047.

Dhankar also slammed “anti-national” rhetoric against India, calling it the biggest challenge facing the country's development.

He urged students to put national interests ahead of political and ideological differences.
