Meanwhile, structural consultant Chetan Patil, who was registered in the FIR in connection with the collapse incident, has been arrested from Kolhapur. Kolhapur police chief Mahendra Pandit said Patil was detained late Thursday night and handed over to Sindhudurg police for further investigation.
The statue's toppling sparked anger across the state, with the opposition targeting the government, accusing it of insulting Shivaji Maharaj.
