    News18 SheShakti 2024: Celebrating the power of women breaking barriers

    After a successful debut, News18 SheShakti is back with the much-anticipated second edition, celebrating the extraordinary achievements and contributions of women across India. With the theme of “Breaking Barriers”, SheShakti 2024 will focus on the diverse roles played by women in promoting gender equality and driving social progress.

    Women's empowerment in India is growing significantly, with ground-breaking progress being made in various fields. From breaking the glass ceiling in corporate boardrooms to conquering the world of sports, Indian women are leaving an indelible mark on society. After a successful debut, News18 SheShakti is back with the much-anticipated second edition, celebrating the extraordinary achievements and contributions of women across India.

    The theme of SheShakti 2024 is ‘Breaking Barriers’ and will focus on the diverse roles played by women in promoting gender equality and driving social progress.

    India’s progress on gender equality is evident through impactful policies and initiatives. For example, 21 states have reserved 50% seats for women in local governance, and 84% of the beneficiaries of the Stand Up India program are women. In addition, 43% of India’s STEM graduates are women, the highest proportion in the world, indicating that women have made significant progress in education and professional fields.

    Outstanding women like Manu Bhaker, who excelled at the Paris Olympics, not only highlight their excellence in sport but also serve as a source of inspiration for young girls across the country to pursue their dreams in track and field and beyond. The upcoming SheShakti aims to highlight these advancements by showcasing the stories of women who are leading the way in various fields including technology, science, sports, arts and business and leaving their mark globally.

    This year’s theme is “Breaking Barriers,” highlighting the incredible progress women have made in overcoming challenges and excelling in their fields. SheShakti 2024 will feature engaging discussions and inspiring stories from women who are breaking barriers and driving positive change in communities and industries. By focusing on their journeys and achievements, SheShakti will provide insights into the challenges women face and the innovative solutions they develop to overcome them.

    Scheduled to take place in New Delhi on September 16, SheShakti 2024 will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, inspiration and celebration of women leaders, influencers and advocates. The event will feature outstanding women from a variety of fields, including renowned scientists, accomplished business executives, famous athletes and influential artists, who will share their experiences and insights into overcoming obstacles and achieving success. These discussions will provide us with a unique opportunity to learn from and be inspired by some of the most successful and groundbreaking women of our time.

    It will also provide a space to celebrate the cultural and economic contributions of women, highlighting the importance of gender diversity and inclusion in building a stronger and more resilient India.
