Kolkata Police rejects CBI's claims and says crime scene at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital 'not damaged'
After the body of a 31-year-old doctor was recovered from Kolkata's RG Kar Hospital, a picture of a crowded seminar room went viral on social media. A photo showing a number of people inside a seminar hall drew attention on Friday, and soon after some questions were raised about how so many people were allowed into the crime scene. Meanwhile, Kolkata Police, responding to the allegations leveled over the viral photo, rejected the central probe agency's claims and insisted that the crime scene “was not damaged”. In fact, it was clarified that all persons appearing in the photos were fully authorized to be present and their identities have been confirmed.

No one unrelated to the investigation process enters”, Kolkata Police DCP Indira Mukherjee said at a press conference.

Explaining the photo, Mukherjee said, “We have a photographer from the detective department, police chief, additional CP-1, woman police officer and forensic officer here. We are aware of and identified all this.
“There is another photo and a new set of people. We have the forensic doctor, the FSL, the fingerprint expert, the ACP from the detective division, the photographer, the additional CP-1 and the forensic officer. This photo or video is the end of the interrogation process time,” she said, describing the second image.
