Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the train, marking a major development in the region.
Uttar Pradesh residents are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new Vande Bharat Express train, which will launch on Saturday, August 31. Hundreds of children from Meerut will be the first passengers of this express train.
Vande Bharat Express will start regular services between Meerut and Lucknow from September 1 and will operate six days a week (except Tuesdays). This high-speed train has 8 carriages and the journey takes approximately 7 hours and 15 minutes.
The train will depart from Meerut at 6:35 am and reach Lucknow at 1:45 pm, with stops at Moradabad and Bareilly. The return journey will depart from Lucknow at 2:45 pm and reach Meerut at 10 pm.
Vande Bharat Express standard class fare is expected to be around Rs 1,500, while executive class fare will range between Rs 2,000 and 2,500.
To celebrate the launch of the new service, children created a series of paintings to welcome the Vande Bharat Express. Local students see the new connection as an important milestone in the city's development, which has seen recent improvements such as the Delhi Expressway and Rapid Transit. The city will also benefit from future projects including the Ganga Expressway and a new ring road.
