A woman and her companion traveling on the newly launched Mert-Lucknow Vande Bharat train on Saturday alleged that they were harassed and misbehaved by the BJP workers on the train. Narrating her ordeal, the woman said several BJP members misbehaved with them while they were crossing the train carriage to get food.
Speaking to reporters inside the train, the woman said that when they went to get food, an old man stopped them and told them they were not allowed to pass because it was a “BJP carriage.” On the way back, the two were stopped again and had an argument.
“When we were passing the hut to get food, an uncle stopped us and said this is a BJP hut and we can't go in. When we came back, they started arguing and pushing us and asked why we were walking around the hut so often Back and forth. We are also associated with the BJP but these people are defaming the party,” the woman said.
Her companions said they were BJP supporters and influential people who had been invited to cover the inauguration of the train. “The BJP hired us as influencers. They considered the train as their personal property and misbehaved with my sister,” he said.
