A 19-year-old schoolgirl was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Lucknow on Sunday. The girl's body was found in her hostel room at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia College of Law, Lucknow, where she was studying for her Bachelor of Legislative Law (LLB).
The deceased, Anika Rastogi, was taken to the hospital in a coma and doctors declared her dead.
Sources revealed that Rastogi did not open the door of her hostel room and later when the door of the room was broken, she was found lying on the floor in a comatose state.
Rastogi, a third-year LLB student, is the daughter of senior IPS officer Santosh Rastogi, who is currently serving as the Inspector General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in New Delhi.
Ashiyana police have sent the body for autopsy, and the cause of death will be announced in the autopsy report.
The police have launched an investigation into the case.
