Meghwal, while addressing a valedictory session of the National District Judicial Conference in the presence of President Drupadi Murmu, said his ministry had set the goal of “justice for all”
Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Sunday called for collective efforts to break the common perception that the Indian judicial system suffers from “taarikh pe taarikh culture” and asserted that such efforts will enhance the trust factor among citizens .
He also presented a critical analysis of the “pendency of statute of limitations.”
The minister said aging analysis and consolidation of similar cases has helped reduce pendency in courts and commended some high courts for setting up such a system.
Meghwal, while addressing a valedictory session of the National District Judicial Conference attended by President Drupadi Murmu, said his ministry had set the goal of “justice for all”.
The plan proposes to provide affordable, speedy, technology-based and citizen-centric justice to the people.
“It is the collective responsibility of all those participating in the program to break the common perception that the justice system has a taarikh pe taarikh culture,” he said.
Meghwal also called for the creation of an ecosystem where the last person in the queue feels they have received justice.
He said these efforts would further enhance the “trust factor” in the justice system.
