Nadda questioned the delay in the release of the committee's report and the implementation of its recommendations.

Bharatiya Janata Party president and Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Sunday attacked the Left government in Kerala, blaming it for delay in releasing the Judiciary Hema Commission report and a landslide in the state's Wayanad district that killed more than 200 people.

Naderda, who is in Kerala to attend a three-day coordination meeting organized by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), raised questions over the delay in release of the committee report and implementation of its recommendations.

“What stopped them? What bothered them? It's because they were an integral part of it (the adverse findings in the report). They wanted to hide something because their people were involved.

“I regret to say that the Hema committee report singled out the involvement of CPI(M) leaders. The chief minister should come out in black and white. He should tell what actually happened,” the Union minister said while speaking to industrialists and industrialists in the region. said the civic leaders while speaking at a public meeting.

The report of the Justice K Hema Commission, set up by the Kerala government in the wake of the 2017 actress attack case, exposed the harassment and exploitation of women in the Malayalam film industry.

Nadda also accused the Left government of being slow to respond even after being warned of severe weather conditions in Wayanad, where massive landslides destroyed Punchirimattam, Chooralmala and Mundakkai villages under Meppadi panchayat.

The minister said that while what happened was tragic and the Center was helping Kerala in every way possible, it was the state government's “callousness” that led to the loss of life.

“The weather department has issued warnings and NDRF troops are here, but the state government is slow to act and therefore cannot respond in time,” he argued.

He said the people of Palakkad need to understand how the state is governed so that they can choose to elect a BJP candidate from the district to the state assembly in 2026.

Nadda also attacked the Congress-led UDF opposition in Kerala, saying they and the LDF were two sides of the same coin.

He claimed that these two fronts destroyed the culture of Kerala.

Earlier, Kerala was known for peace, development and education, but now “it is becoming a place of violence and corruption,” the BJP chief said.

“The political leaders here have lost their moral shine and have fallen into corruption,” he claimed.

Nadda also collected gold smuggling incidents through the diplomatic pouch scandal and the multi-crore Karuvanur Cooperative Bank scam to attack the Left government and the chief's office.

He expressed confidence that the BJP was making inroads in Kerala and Palakkad and “the lotus will bloom” in the region.
