Gill earned a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Cambridge and a master's degree in chemical engineering from MIT through an exchange program. He also holds bachelor's and master's degrees in biochemical engineering and biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.
