Villagers are afraid to go out at night due to leopard attacks. At night, leopards often go into the village to eat chickens.

A leopard that had wreaked havoc in Savannaru village of Belthangadi town in Dakshin Kannada district for the past two months has finally been rescued. The forest department devised a rescue plan with the help of a bone and a chicken coop. Leopards are hunting and feeding on cows, chickens and other animals. It created a reign of terror among the villagers.

The forest department placed a bone in front of the house of Gurikanda resident Ananda Shetty. Locally, leopards attack chickens causing havoc. It is against this backdrop that the forest department placed the bones in chicken coops. The leopard entered the cage in search of food and was trapped by forest officials.

The village's pet chickens and dogs are disappearing at an alarming rate. They contacted forest department officials to rescue the leopard. They have been searching for the leopard for the past two months. Villagers fear that their cows and calves will fall victim to leopards, disrupting their source of income.

Villagers are afraid to go out at night due to leopard attacks. At night, leopards often go into the village to eat chickens. Dogs are also hunted by leopards. Therefore, people often go home very early in the evening. After careful planning, officials devised a plan to keep the bones in cages.

Place the bones in a chicken coop to hatch a leopard. Late at night, the leopard climbed into the cage to get the bones. After the leopard was caught, the villagers breathed a sigh of relief.

Earlier this year, in a shocking incident, a leopard got trapped in the shed of a herd of buffaloes and was later rescued by the forest department. Interestingly, even when predators and prey share a close space, they do not get hurt or launch any attacks. The Times of India reported that the incident took place in a farmer's cowshed in Mota Samadiyala village in Amreli district of Gujarat.
