If a person is determined to do something, there will always be a way to succeed. Take the example of this West Bengal woman who continued to expand her knowledge despite battling hardship and poverty. Although she dropped out of college, she made sure to never stop learning, which eventually paved the way for her to appear in one of the most watched and popular shows in the country, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).
Pushpanjali Lohar hails from the small village of Gangutia in West Bengal. She has struggled with poverty since she was a child and has overcome many difficulties in life. But she continued her education. She was only seven years old when her father died, leaving her mother to take care of the family. Since her mother did not have a stable job, she was forced to cut grass and sell it to make a living.
It was from this meager source of income that Pushpanjali continued his education. However, her studies stopped during her sophomore year of college. The reason is that her sister is also studying and her mother can hardly afford her sister's tuition. Pushpanjali decided to run the household with her mother. She started tutoring children, which not only helped her financially but also helped her improve her general knowledge.
She also watches Kaun Banega Crorepati on television regularly to further expand her knowledge on other subjects. She decided to participate in KBC's Challenger Week competition but didn't expect to get a call from Mumbai. Talking about the experience she shared, “I have participated in quizzes since I was a child. I have always loved collecting general knowledge. I read newspapers, studied general knowledge books and still do. I used to watch this show on TV and then I participated in the show game. I went to Mumbai and met Amitabh Bachchan in person and it was like a dream.
However, Pushpanjali did not get the chance to sit in this popular seat, which she deeply regrets. But this prompted her to prepare for Kaun Banega Crorepati again and was determined to sit on the hot seat.
