Kavita Sharma and her son Manas Pratim Sharma from Haleswar in Tezpur have been running a steamed bun stall.

Momo is a delicate wrap filled with meat or vegetable fillings, mostly steamed. Many food stores also pan-fry or fry it according to customer's request. Momo is one of the most delicious dishes loved by people all over the country. Steamed buns are a quite common street food in different parts of India. If you set up a stall, you can make a lot of profits. After knowing this, a mother and son from Assam decided to run a small momo stall, which is hygienic and homemade. Amid rising unemployment in the country, Kavita Sharma and her son Manas Pratim Sharma of Haleswar, Tezpur ) has been running a steamed bun stall. The two prepare and sell to customers the mouth-watering momos they make at home. The Sharma family faced many financial hardships during the lockdown, which led her to open a momo stall with her son.

Located in Haleswar, this small stall attracts customers by offering steamed buns at very affordable prices. Every night, customers make a beeline for the steaming, fluffy and delicious steamed bun dishes. The two earn around Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 per day. The initial difficulty has now made them popular and in high demand among the people of that particular area.

Due to the widespread recognition they gained, people in the neighborhood started calling Kavita Sharma the “Momo Sisters”. Their daily hard work, which involves rolling out maida, chopping meat or vegetables, preparing chutneys and steaming chutneys, culminates in what appears to be a successful business venture. Their determination to overcome difficulties is a perfect example of this.
