The disability certificates of 2018 and 2021, claiming “multiple disabilities”, were allegedly issued by Ahmednagar District Civil Hospital for Khedkar while he was attempting UPSC in 2022 and 2023
The Delhi Police, in its second status report filed in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, said the disability certificate submitted by former IAS probationer Puja Khedkar is likely to be “forged”.
Khedkar submitted two separate disability certificates for her UPSC exams.
The report states: “As per our Civil Surgeon’s Office records, the Disability Certificate (Multiple Disability) No. MH2610119900342407 has not been issued by the issuing medical institution in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra and hence the forgery and fabrication of the disability certificate More likely.
The disability certificates for 2018 and 2021, claiming “multiple disabilities”, were allegedly issued by the Ahmednagar District Civil Hospital for Khedkar when he attempted UPSC in 2022 and 2023.
However, the Ahmednagar district civil administration denied issuing a certificate to Khedekar claiming “multiple disabilities”, according to the latest status report of the Delhi Police.
Khedekar claimed that she suffered from various physical and mental ailments and allegedly exploited this to obtain benefits under relevant quotas to increase her chances of passing the civil examination.
Apart from the disability certificate, Khedkar was also accused of distorting information in his application for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022 to ensure reservation of benefits.
On July 31, the UPSC canceled Khedkar's candidature and barred her from appearing for future examinations.
