Businessman Anant Ambani has been associated with Lalbaugcha Raja for over 15 years and has been attending all the events
The much-anticipated debut of Mumbai's Lalbaugcha Raja was unveiled earlier tonight ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi. The sight of Baba in maroon attire and jewelery left devotees in awe. One of the highlights of this year's Lalbaugcha Raja is a 20-kilogram gold crown worth Rs 15 crore, reportedly donated by Anant Ambani Enterprises and Reliance Foundation.
Anant Ambani has been associated with the Lalbaugcha Raja Committee through various initiatives over the past 15 years. He was also seen participating in various functions of Lalbaugcha Raja during Ganeshotsav. Besides, he participates in the statue immersion ceremony held every year at Girgaon Chowpatty beach. Through the Reliance Foundation, the Ambani family has also provided support to various health-related initiatives of the Lalbaugcha Raja Committee.
Lalbaugcha Raja Committee is facing a shortage of funds for social work during the coronavirus pandemic. Anant Ambani took the initiative and provided important assistance to the committee. Anant Ambani and Reliance Foundation donated 24 dialysis machines to the Commission's Patient Assistance Fund. Anant Ambani has also been appointed as executive adviser to the Lalbaugcha Raja Committee.
Lalbaugcha Raja or the “King of Lalbaug” is the most popular Ganesh mandal in India's financial capital. From commoners to celebrities, lakhs of Mumbaikars line up at Lalbagh every year just to catch a glimpse of the iconic icon.
The Ganapati festival begins on September 7 and is a major celebration in Maharashtra. Ganeshotsav continues for ten days with joyous festivities, elaborate rituals and other festivities and ends with the grand Visarjan, where the Ganesha idol is immersed in a water body amidst chants and music.
