Karnataka police have reviewed photos of Renukaswamy begging for mercy when he was attacked by Kannada actor Darshan Tugudeepa and his gang, shortly before his death. News18 accessed a photo of Renukaswamy, 33, shirtless, with bruises on his body and looking scared. Another photo shows Renuka Swamy lying on the floor after being attacked.
The photos were released after the Karnataka police filed a chargesheet in the Renuka Swamy kidnapping and murder case, detailing the role of jailed Kannada superstar Darshan and others involved in the case. The charge sheet also details the cruel and inhuman torture Renukaswamy was subjected to until his death.
“After being attacked by Darshan and his gang, Renukaswamy suffered a fractured sternum. There were a total of 39 injuries on his body. The victim also suffered a deep wound on his head,” the charge sheet reads.
It added that a megger, an electrical device used to measure insulation resistance, was used to deliver electric shock to Renukaswamy's private parts.
“Darshan and his gang used a megger to damage Renukaswamy's testicles,” the charge sheet reads.
On June 9, Renukaswamy's body was found near a flyover in Bengaluru.
According to police, actor Darshan's fan Renuka Swamy was arrested at Darshan's behest after he sent offensive messages on social media to actor Pavithra Gowda, who was rumored to be Darshan's co-star. A gang kidnaps and murders.
Darshan has been named as the second accused in the case and his legal team is preparing to submit a bail request. However, police sources said it would not be easy to get bail as he was involved in three more cases related to lavish treatment inside prison.
