Renuka Swamy's father says it pains them to think about what their son has been through and they hope his killer goes through the same thing
The parents of 33-year-old Renukaswamy, who was allegedly brutally murdered by actor Darshan and his aides in June, were left devastated after pictures emerged of their son being tortured. While Renuka Swamy's mother couldn't muster the courage to watch the video, his father said they were “washing their hands with tears” and hoped the killers would experience the pain their son went through.
Karnataka police have reviewed photos of Renukaswamy begging for mercy when he was attacked by Kannada actor Darshan Tugudeepa and his gang, shortly before his death. News18 accessed a photo of a shirtless Renukaswamy, who had injuries and looked scared. Another photo shows Renuka Swamy lying on the floor after being attacked.
The photos were released after the Karnataka police filed a chargesheet in the Renuka Swamy kidnapping and murder case, detailing the role of jailed Kannada superstar Darshan and others involved in the case. The charge sheet also details the cruel and inhuman torture Renukaswamy was subjected to until his death.
“Despite my son's constant pleading and admitting that he had done wrong, they tortured him mercilessly. This caused me tremendous pain. Didn't they have any compassion? They shocked him and Torture, not sparing any part of his body, imagine how much pain he must have gone through, Kashinath Shivanagoudar, Renukaswamy’s father told us, thinking about this. “We are washing our hands with tears, seeing these images causes unbearable pain. I hope the courts give the harshest possible punishment to the perpetrators, who will face the same thing that my son went through,” he added.
'She will suffer the same fate': VictimPavitra Gundam's mother
The victim's mother, struggling with grief and anger, said her daughter tried to show her the photos but she didn't have the courage to look at them. She also cursed Pavitra Gundam and said that if she was behind his son's murder, she should suffer the same fate as her son.
“I didn't see the photos that went viral, my daughter tried to show them to me, but I didn't have the patience or the strength to look. Despite his constant pleading, they beat him badly. Are they still human?” she asked.
On Gundam's instructions to Darshan and others to kill Renuka Swamy, she said, “If that was the case, she should be punished. If she had done this to my son, she would have suffered the same fate.
