A team of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid at the residence of Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar MCH, Kolkata, on Friday morning. Raids are also being carried out on the houses of three of Ghosh's close associates.
Earlier this week, Ghosh was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over alleged financial irregularities at the medical institution during his tenure. Ghosh was placed in police custody for eight days on Tuesday.
Doctors at Eastern Railway's BR Singh Hospital will conduct medical examinations on Sandip Ghosh and three others arrested by the CBI in connection with alleged financial irregularities. The medical examination will be conducted at the anti-corruption wing of the West Bengal investigation agency on Saturday.
Ghosh was earlier sacked after a trainee doctor was raped and murdered at RG Kar MCH on August 9.
