According to reports, two boys allegedly developed fevers after they failed to receive proper treatment in time. The couple transported the body from a hospital to a village in Gadchiroli district, 15 kilometers away.
Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar highlighted the case. The Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Maharashtra Assembly shared a video of the couple on microblogging site The 'bodies' were searched for a path through the mud. The siblings fell ill with fevers but were not treated promptly. Within hours, their conditions worsened, and within an hour, both boys died.
“There was not even an ambulance to shift the bodies of the two minors to their village, Pattigaon, and the parents were forced to walk 15 kilometers on rain-soaked muddy paths. The grim reality of the healthcare system in Gadchiroli was highlighted again today ,” he added.
The couple from Aheri Taluka in Gadchiroli district were looking for a way out of the mud with the “bodies” of their two children on their shoulders. Did not receive timely treatment. Wadettiwar pointed out that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is the guardian minister of Gadchiroli while Dharmarao Baba Atram, MLA NCP from Aheri constituency, is the FDA minister in Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's government.
“Both claim that by organizing events across Maharashtra, how the state can develop on a daily basis. They should go deep into the ground and see how people in Gadchiroli live and the number of deaths there,” Wade Tivar added.
