After a slow start to the 2024 hurricane season, Mother Nature appears to be trying to make up for lost time. First, Helen hit the Florida Panhandle and wreaked havoc in Appalachia. This week, Hurricane Milton slammed into an area of Florida's Gulf Coast that hasn't been hit by such a powerful storm in more than a century. In Episode 130 of The Climate Realism Show, the Heartland Institute's H. Sterling Burnett, Anthony Watts, Linnea Lueken, and Jim Lakely welcome back Stan Goldenberg, one of the nation's top hurricane experts, to Destroy Hurricane Milton. Will it really be a “major” hurricane when it makes landfall?
We'll also be covering some of the crazy climate news from the week, including Bill Nye saying whether Kamala Harris needs to be voted out to stop hurricanes, Al Gore taking advantage of hurricanes for fun and profit, and the seemingly unsinkable concept that humans can sow and even guide hurricanes.
