The Maryland Department of Environment has issued an orange air quality alert for fine particulate matter for much of Baltimore until noon Monday.
The alert covers northeastern Maryland, Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties and means air pollution
Concentrations within this area may be detrimental to sensitive groups. Sensitive groups include children, people with asthma, heart disease or other lung conditions, and the elderly. The effects of air pollution can be minimized by avoiding strenuous outdoor activities or exercise.

A strong smell of smoke and smoke filled the Route 40 corridor on Sunday as Aberdeen Proving Ground fire and emergency services extinguished an out-of-control fire.
Monday is expected to be partly sunny with a temperature near 63 degrees and a northeast wind around 6 mph that will turn to the southeast in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Friday should be sunny with a high near 68 degrees and an overnight low around 48 degrees.
Saturday is expected to be sunny with a high near 65 degrees and an overnight low around 47 degrees.
There is a 30% chance of showers on Sunday. Otherwise, expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 65 degrees.
