Vice President Kamala Harris is doing her best to convince voters that she is not opposed to hydraulic fracturing (commonly known as fracking) for oil and gas. [emphasis, links added]
That’s because, despite the media’s attempts to malign fracking, most people are smart enough to realize that fracking is critical to releasing hard-to-produce hydrocarbons, especially in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, and in tight shales in other states.
Most Americans are also probably aware that fracking is responsible for the huge increase in natural gas and oil production, [otherwise] Energy prices will rise higher and faster than during the Biden-Harris administration.
Contrary to her past statements that she would ban fracking, Harris now says she does not support a ban on fracking at the federal level.
This is a red herring, however, since the vast majority of fracking occurs on private and state-owned land, and the president has no power anyway.
What Harris can and has done is support and push for more regulations, expanding the regulations that the Biden-Harris administration has put in place over the past four years, Examples include increasingly stringent methane regulations and monitoring, the slow issuance of oil and gas permits on federal lands, and the cancellation of lease sales.
People must remember that Harris is not disavowing policies that the current administration has implemented that generally make it more difficult to fracking, developing and transporting oil and natural gas.
Before, Harris pledged to criminally charge oil companies for their role in man-made climate change. More importantly, she made it clear that her values had not changed.
Her unchanging values can also be seen in the employees and consultants she chooses.
Harris' engagement director calls oil and gas workers 'eco-terrorists' and wrote on
Harris also claimed that she was involved in every major policy discussion during Biden's presidency and even had the final say on several major decisions.
That being said, Fracking isn't the only energy-related issue that has voters questioning Harris' judgment.
Harris, if we believe her claims to wield significant policy influence during the Biden administration, must be well aware of the recent suspension of liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, which harms our economy and our allies in Europe.
American households have already paid more than $2,500 in higher energy costs since 2021 due to the Biden-Harris administration's energy policies.
Harris also expressed sympathy for Biden's killing of the Keystone XL pipeline project on his first day as vice president, which cost the United States tens of thousands of jobs and undermined U.S. energy security.
Additionally, Harris agrees with Biden’s misguided decision to ban oil and gas production on millions of acres of federal lands and is certainly aware that energy production lease issuance is at a record low.
These are just some of the actions Harris and Biden are taking to maliciously harm the U.S. oil and gas industry and serve no purpose other than to support our enemies abroad and significantly increase America’s energy costs.
Actually, American households have already paid more than $2,500 in higher energy costs since 2021 due to the Biden-Harris administration's energy policies.
For those who use home heating oil, they will pay an additional $3,000. It is estimated that the U.S. economy loses over a billion dollars a year as a result of these foolish policies.
Last summer, the entire Democratic establishment tried to agitate the American public on whether to seek a ban on gas stoves and other gas appliances. The Biden-Harris administration claims they won't track your furnace, water heater, etc.
However, they have floated the idea of banning natural gas hookups in new buildings, as New York City and other Democratic strongholds have done, This is a de facto ban.
When that failed, they tried to impose extreme and unnecessary efficiency standards, This would result in 96% of stoves and many other appliances being banned – yet another attempt at a “backdoor” ban. Meanwhile, Harris and Biden have maintained that they are not trying to ban stoves.
Harris is currently in office and Her government is currently pushing policies to make it possible to have a gas connection in your home, disqualifying you from getting a mortgage From the Federal Housing Administration and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Why hasn’t Harris taken action to stop this attack on natural gas and American homeownership?
Every step of the way, Harris supported rather than acted to block policies championed by the current administration Making it harder and more expensive for Americans to own a home makes everything more expensive.
Her choice of advisers proves she is even more extreme than Biden. A brief glance at the X page of Camilla Thorndike, the Harris campaign's climate change director, is enough to demonstrate exactly where the Harris administration stands on energy. Here's a tip, it's not entirely focused on affordability and reliability.
Kamala Harris’ actions and inactions on energy and climate issues speak louder than her recent comments. Simply put, Voters should not let her lie about her beliefs and actions on energy policy.
Her values haven't changed. How do we know? That's what she told us.
