Why Trump needs to abandon the Paris Climate Agreement

    Paris Eiffel Tower Climate Agreement
During Donald Trump's first successful campaign for president, he pledged to withdraw the United States from the Paris Agreement. [emphasis, links added]

He wasn't able to do so until the day after he lost the 2020 election, and the reprieve lasted just over two months as Joe Biden rejoined the agreement the day he was inaugurated.

This is one of many Biden messes that Trump must clean up.

The United States should not be part of the Paris Agreement at all. It would be foolish for our country to commit to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, which means reducing the use of fossil fuels.

Achieving global temperature goals created out of thin air: Requires government mandates, restrictions, and increased spending on politically popular but expensive and unreliable renewable energy; hinders economic growth; limits our choices, leaving many choices to the globalist elite ;This is an abdication of our national sovereignty.

It’s pointless and dishonest, looking for a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.

“The Paris Agreement has always been a costly farce, a symbolic gesture masquerading as a global solution,” writes Charles Rotter in “Watts Up With That?” blog.

“Its main purpose? Wealth transfer from productive countries to politically corrupt countries under the guise of “climate justice”.

certainly, China, the world's largest emitter, has made only vague commitments and no actual obligations. It is both common sense and inevitable for Trump to withdraw from this scam.

Trump did not withdraw from the Paris Agreement for the first time until November 2020 because he was hamstrung by a previous administration that wanted to fundamentally change the country and viewed the agreement as a tool of destruction.

“President Obama's negotiators want to ensure that if there is a change in leadership, it will take time for the United States to exit.” BBC explains.

Therefore, “no country can give notice of withdrawal from the agreement more than three years after the date of ratification” and must then provide 12 months' notice to the United Nations.

Trump issued a notice on November 4, 2019, suggesting that the United States would officially withdraw on November 4, 2020.
