The CIA and global cooling—is it serious?

While the BBC tried to convince the public that weather was becoming more extreme due to global warming, in 1974 scientists were really concerned about the true impact of global cooling.

So much so that the CIA prepared this study for the government:

In the section about Earth's atmosphere, they state:

Back in the 1970s, scientists and politicians weren't worried about global temperatures per se; they were worried about the very real effects of global cooling on weather and agriculture.

They also recognize that the first half of the 20th century marked The best agricultural climate since the 11th century, The Little Ice Age was Drought, famine and political unrest.

They have very real fears that the world's climate may return to its old state again.
