Baltimore-area residents will be treated to sunny skies, cold temperatures and gusty winds Wednesday as the area continues to recover from heavy snowfall earlier in the week.
The National Weather Service is predicting sunny skies through midweek with frigid temperatures barely above freezing. On Wednesday, highs will be around 31 degrees, lows will be in the teens, and wind gusts will reach 25 mph.
More similar conditions are expected Thursday, with windier conditions expected, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Biting wind chills are expected Thursday night.
By Friday, winds are easing, increasing the chance of a second round of snow. The maximum temperature will be near 35 degrees and the overnight low will be around 26 degrees.
While the weather service warned it's too early to predict snowfall amounts, as of Wednesday, the amount could be less severe than Monday's blizzard, which dropped more than 6 inches in many areas across the state.
The weather is expected to be sunny on Saturday, with a maximum temperature of nearly 37 degrees and a minimum of about 26 degrees.
