    not many people know

    Paul Homewood

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckg8dg3ke40o

You'll remember this BBC article from last month, which claimed in its opening paragraph:

Climate change has brought record heat this year and brought extreme weather from hurricanes to month-long droughts.

The report goes on to list a series of severe weather events without providing any evidence that they are not natural occurrences that occur regularly. There is also no evidence that such events have become more frequent or extreme over time.

I submitted a complaint and just received this response:

In the text of the article, BBC climate and science reporter Esme Stallard cited the findings of the World Weather Attribution (WWA) group, whose latest research shows that people around the world have experienced an additional 41 days of dangerously high temperatures due to climate change.
Overall, as the title highlights, the article reviews a year of extreme weather that affected billions of people, putting it into context of the events listed, without specifically mentioning climate change.

In short, they are trying to get away with it by claiming they never said these events were related to climate change!

This of course contradicts the opening paragraph, which states that climate change is bringing extreme weather, including hurricanes and droughts!

I have now resubmitted my complaint to stage two.

But what is obviously important is that they are struggling to find any evidence to support their claims.
