Texas is already leading as Trump's energy agenda begins to focus
Donald Trump made it clear in his massive executive action after the sworn in that he intends to follow the Texas pro-energy model based on deregulation, innovation and exploration.
Perhaps most importantly, he declared a national energy emergency and placed permits for oil and gas infrastructure on a fast road. He also signed an executive order to revoke oil and gas restrictions on Alaska and our country’s coast and restart the approval process for liquid natural gas exports. These actions – surely in the future – will inspire significant increases in energy production and exploration here in the United States.
But it is wrong to regard these actions as energy policy. During the campaign, President Trump regularly talked about the key to domestic energy’s success in seemingly unrelated global stability, clean air, clean water, and lower prices for utilities, housing, groceries, etc.
Accept inflation and the economy. Energy affects the price of everything else because it requires energy to produce products, grow crops and transfer goods to stores, consumers and construction sites. High energy prices drive the cost of transportation, groceries, housing, health care and everything the American people depend on. To address the affordability crisis, we must address the energy crisis.
The power of American energy can also be seen in environmental protection. The United States has one of the cleanest economies in the world, which means to have a clean environment we have to generate as much energy as possible in the United States, especially in the case of natural gas. When U.S. production rises, clean energy usage increases, and dirty energy drops.
President Donald Trump has proven the situation. In his first semester, he cut the traditional Chinese tape festival and empowered American energy producers. These moves have not only increased domestic energy production under President Trump's emissions. In fact, despite years of green energy policy, the Biden-Harris administration's emissions are higher than Trump has done. Obviously, our LNG production and export capacity is an environmental issue, both an energy and cost issue.
In foreign policy, if other countries rely on Russia, Iran or Venezuela to meet their energy needs, rather than in a world where we want a free and stable, the U.S. leverage in the world will decline, and we must not only do we Generate enough energy for ourselves, but also enough to make our allies strong and opponents check.
Not to mention, according to the International Energy Agency, artificial intelligence, cryptocurrencies and data centers could double their energy consumption levels in 2022 by 2026. To leverage these technologies that will drive the next generation of America to flourish, we must greatly improve energy production.
In short, the power of the United States at home and abroad requires more energy, and Trump has begun to achieve it.
If President Trump’s pro-energy agenda (which reduces prices, promotes global stability, fuel technology innovation and provides a cleaner environment – it sounds familiar, that’s because it’s exactly what Texas has been for decades Things to do.
Texas is the most energy-producing state. We are the top energy producer in the United States and in 2023 we produce 27% of the U.S. clean natural gas. We have conducted long-term energy exploration, offshore drilling and innovative extraction technologies such as horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing.
But we didn't have a break on oil and gas either. Regarding renewable energy, we have a second solar installation in any state, with more nuclear reactors than in all but five states, and even generate enough hydropower to serve nearly three million Texans.
Through all our energy methods, Texas has proven that Trump’s energy agenda will be successful. Texas has grown more than twice as fast as the entire United States in recent years, while providing lower energy costs than other states and increasingly cleaner air. Costs are reduced, economic strength is constantly improving, and our environment is very clean.
Texans know that when our energy industry thrives, our citizens thrive. As President Trump continues to embrace the full potential of U.S. energy, the entire country will begin to experience Texas success stories.
