In a stunning revelation, EPA administrator Lee Zeldin, through the last time the Biden administration discovered a secret maneuver involving the allocation of about $20 billion in taxpayer funds to external finance mechanism. The move appears to be a purpose to avoid a subsequent intentional attempt to prevent potential budget restrictions expected by the government. Funds specifically targeting environmental projects under the Inflation Reduction Act are allocated between eight entities, including in particular the Joint Climate Fund.
EPA administrator Lee Zeldin announced Wednesday that he found $20 billion in taxpayer funds “parked” by the Biden administration in financial institutions, apparently to prevent the Trump administration from cutting grants to “ left-wing activist group.”
Administrator Zeldin expressed deep concern about the transparency and supervision of this distribution process. He advocated the immediate return of the funds to the EPA to ensure proper management and accountability. Zeldin also pointed to plans to submit the matter to the EPA inspector general and worked with the Department of Justice to safeguard financial responsibility and public trust.
“It is shocking that Biden's EPA has put about $20 billion in tax revenue at external financial institutions,” Zeldin said. “The program is the first such program in EPA history, with the aim of urgently reducing oversight,” he said. fulfill all the funds that are much needed.”
In December 2024, the Veritas project held a secret interview with Brent Efron, special consultant for the implementation of EPA. Efron frankly described the institution’s crazy efforts to allocate funds before the transition to power, noting: “Now, here’s how to get the funds out as soon as possible. [Trump Administration] Come in…just like we were on the Titanic, we threw the bars off the edge. ”
Efron's admission is a disturbing strategy: EPA incorporates billions of dollars into nonprofits as a political buffer against the upcoming Republican oversight. He revealed that over the past year, the agency has paid $50 billion to the climate initiative, viewing the nonprofits as a safer repository of funds that could be withdrawn by the new government. Efron even hints at personal aspirations, noting that working for one of these well-funded organizations is “really cool.”
It seems that X user oilfield Rando was the one who identified the fund in the early stage and has been trying to get people's attention since at least January 30.
This behavior is not only irresponsible. This is a blatant betrayal of public trust. The EPA is an institution that commissions our environment and seems to have engaged in secret financial manipulation to advance a specific political agenda while avoiding responsibility. Such actions undermine the foundations of our democratic institutions, in which transparency and supervision are crucial.

The metaphor of “throwing gold bars from the Titanic” is particularly appropriate. It shows reckless despair, willingness to abandon valuable resources to save the sunken agenda. However, unlike the destined passengers of the Titanic, the EPA has the option. They chose to prioritize political expediency over fiscal liability to harm U.S. taxpayers.
Steve McIntyre posted a thread on X detailing the expected recipients of the mud fund.
The scandal calls for immediate action. The $20 billion must be returned to control of the EPA and should be thoroughly investigated to hold the responsible persons who are carefully planning the plan. Furthermore, this incident should serve as a clarification for greater oversight of federal agencies to ensure that they cannot operate as rogue entities and pursue their own agendas at the expense of the public.
The EPA's actions are a serious violation of public trust. We must address this misconduct directly, not only correct the current situation, but also prevent future abuse. The American people should get a government that operates with integrity, transparency and accountability, rather than throwing their hard-won “gold bars” into the abyss.
