Senior Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials received a memorandum on Friday ordering an immediate halt of work related to climate change and eliminating climate-related provisions throughout the agency.

This memorandum directs the senior office to go “To the maximum extent permitted by law, eliminate all climate change activities and the use of climate change terms in DHS policies and programs,” According to the files seen by Bloomberg News.

Its change is intended to “align” with Trump's executive order, which reverses multiple climate-related orders by former President Joe Biden.

The instructions of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem mark the latest moves of President Donald Trump and his appointment to address federal efforts to address global warming that could impact homeland security Ministry of the Ministry of Education for Disaster Response Capability.

The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately comment outside of regular working hours on the memorandum of climate-related content.

Within three weeks since Trump's inauguration, his administration has begun withdrawing from the Paris Agreement, halting the flow of billions of dollars in federal grant funds funded by two major climate laws and suddenly expelled or abandoned Hundreds of Environmental Protection Agency's administrative leave. Who works on climate or environmental justice.

Activities affected by Noem’s new directives in DHS include the modification or termination of contracts related to climate change, the end of participation in the Climate Working Group, the revision or abolition of climate policies and the end of reporting requirements.

Neum also ordered acting leaders Remove “climate change terms in all DHS programs, policies, products, communications and activities”, According to the document.

Politico reported that in his previous job as governor of South Dakota, Neum questioned the established scientific consensus on humanity causing climate change.

With over 260,000 labor force, DHS is an umbrella organization that includes citizenship and immigration services, the Coast Guard, and Customs and Border Protection.

However, the most impact of the new directive is the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the country's main means to organize federal responses to disasters.
